Nelson's Family Campground has been owned and operated by the Gustine family since 1964. Located on 140 scenic acres in the heart of Connecticut, the campground is the ideal place to camp, relax and enjoy the outdoors. The physical amenities include a 60' in-ground swimming pool, a 2-acre pond for fishing and swimming, a 5,000 sq. ft. rec building, camp store, firewood, propane gas, ice, cable & TV hookups, picnic tables, laundromat, flush toilets and hot showers, mobile sanitary services ($), snack bar (weekends) and dump stations. Sites: Phase I (260 RV sites). Campsites have water, 30 amp metered electric, a dry-well for graywater, and receive once per week pumpout of holding tank (extra charge for more than once a week).

Overnight training camp for youths ages 10-17. 1 week sessions running from Sun-Fri during July & Aug. Top notch training with emphasis on FUN! Each season will play a game on Doubleday Field, visit the Hall of Fame and enjoy outings to a Fun Park and take in an Oneonta Yankees game (if scheduling permits). $315 per child. Day training camp for 8-17 call for info.

Directions: From Houston - Take I-45 south toward Galveston. Go to Exit 12 (La Marque). Stay on feeder road to the Service Station. Turn right, go 1 block, then left around the corner to park.
From East I-10 - Turn left on Hwy 146 toward Baytown, continue down 146 to Texas City. Turn right on 1765 - 4 mi., go under I-45 one block, turn left at the T around the corner to the park.
From West I-10 - Turn right on Hwy 6 towards Galveston at Hitchcock, TX, turn left on F.M. 2004, go 2 mi. to F.M. 1765, right on 1765 2 mi. towards I-45. Before I-45 keep right, past 1765 around corner to park.
From The Rio Grande Valley - Come towards Houston on Hwy 35 or toward Galveston on F.M. 2004. From 35 go south on Hwy 6 to Hitchcock, turn left on 2004, 2 mi. to F.M. 1765 right on 1765, 2 mi., kept right to park. From 2004, past Hitchcock 2 mi. turn right 2 1/2 mi. to park.
